Silent Auction Rules
- The online auction is held November 23 starting at 5:00 p.m. to November 30 from to 8:10 p.m. with a 20-minute warning before the auction ends. No additional bids may be placed once the auction is declared closed.
- The bidder must be 18 years or older.
- Bidding is only made available online via your mobile device or computer.
- A valid bid is considered made by clicking on the desired item, typing in a valid bid that adheres to the increment guidelines, and pressing submit.
- The highest qualifying bid wins the item and will be notified via text or phone call and arrangements will be made for the delivery or transfer of item(s). Additional shipping costs may be applied if shipped outside of Sioux Falls, SD.
- All sales final: All sales are final, there are no refunds or exchanges, and all items are sold “as is.” No item is redeemable for cash. You are responsible for the safety and security of the item(s) once you have claimed them.
- Each person bidding assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and items obtained at the auction. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising indirectly from Journey of Hope, their board members, employees, or volunteers connected with the auction.
- Some items are subject to limitations/restrictions listed on the items. Hotel, sports tickets, and lodging are subject to space availability and may have specific dates the items must be used.
- Auction items which are services to be performed or items to be ordered: it is the responsibility of the buyer to make arrangements.
- The auction item value listed is an estimate of Fair Market Value (FMV). Items have not been appraised. Journey of Hope is a 501(c)(3) organization. Any bid over the value of the item is considered a donation and may be tax deductible. Consult your tax advisor to clarify the amount of deduction.
